Quick emotional check-in

The Quick Emotional Check-In is a simple and effective exercise designed to help trainers distinguish between emotional reactions and intuitive insights. Before starting a session, take a moment to reflect on your current emotional state and how it may be influencing your intuition.

To begin, sit in a quiet place and ask yourself two key questions: “How am I feeling right now?” and “How is my emotional state influencing my intuition?” Take a few deep breaths and allow yourself to observe your emotions without judgment. Identify specific feelings – such as excitement, stress, or calmness – and consider how these might shape your perceptions and decisions during the session.

This brief exercise fosters greater self-awareness and helps trainers approach their work with clarity and presence. By acknowledging and understanding your emotions, you can create a mental space that allows intuitive insights to surface more clearly, supporting effective decision-making and meaningful interactions.

This resource is inspired by Daniel Goleman’s work on Emotional Intelligence, which emphasizes the importance of self-awareness and emotional regulation in decision-making and interpersonal interactions.
