The source of thought
This resource helps you see how thoughts arise and disappear, making it easier to stop overthinking.
Start by writing down the first thought that comes to mind. Then ask yourself: “Where did this thought come from?” Instead of trying to figure out an answer, just notice the space before the thought appeared. Do this with a few more thoughts.
Soon, you’ll realize that thoughts pop up seemingly out of nowhere. The more you practice, the easier it becomes to let go of stressful thoughts instead of getting caught up in them.
This exercise is useful for anyone who wants to improve their ability to stay calm, focused, and intuitive – whether in personal life or while leading others.
This exercise is inspired by cognitive psychology and mindfulness-based therapy. Research shows that becoming aware of thoughts without reacting to them improves mental clarity and reduces stress.
