The Role of the Co-Facilitator
The role of the co-host, of course, depends on the host’s style and internal team agreements, but here are some suggestions in this regard:
- To monitor the time frame.
- To respond to individual participants’ needs for assistance, thereby allowing the facilitator to fully focus on overseeing the group’s dynamics.
- In groups with specific needs or lower levels of education, to ensure the language remains simple by listening to the facilitator from a participant’s perspective and asking clarifying questions.
- To take care of the materials needed for specific tasks during the session.
- To closely observe the facilitation process and provide feedback after the session.
- To perform specific tasks related to monitoring participants.
- To document the session.
- To be ready to participate in the process as a group member when needed.
Expected Result: More efficient and responsive facilitation.
