Addressing difficult situations

This exercise is designed to help trainers trust their intuition when faced with challenging moments during a session. It encourages pausing to connect with their intuitive insights and make confident decisions.

When a difficult situation arises – such as an unexpected question, disengaged participants, or unforeseen technical issues – trainers are guided to pause and center themselves. Start by taking a deep breath, grounding yourself, and observing the situation without immediate reaction. Ask yourself, “What is my gut feeling about this situation?” Listen carefully to your intuitive response, which may come as a thought, feeling, or bodily sensation.

Based on this insight, decide on the next course of action. Whether it involves addressing the issue directly, shifting the session’s focus, or involving the group, act with confidence and trust your intuitive judgment. After the session, take time to reflect on your decision and its outcome, journaling your experiences to reinforce your intuitive practice.

This resource is inspired by Malcolm Gladwell’s book Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking, which explores the power and reliability of intuition in decision-making.
